Alice Terry and Rudolph Valentino entertain in this drama however Rex Ingram's direction and imagination really shine here, especially in presenting the dramatic ending of Ralph Lewis’ miserly character.

Victor Grandet, having lost his fortune and facing disgrace, sends his son Charles to live with his estranged brother Pere. Uncle Pere is a cruel miser, but Charles discovers feelings for his cousin Eugenie. Pere soon sends Charles away, as he is arranging a marriage for his daughter. 90 Minutes
